STEPS IN CONSTRUCTING A POLE BARN

Install the poles two-ten inches from each other. Remember that the type of material that you will utilize will affect the pole barn’s overall length. If you choose poles made out of metal, you need to install them closer for additional stability.

If you choose wooden poles, you do not need to install them closer together. The recommended space between the poles is ten inches. Use the shovel to make holes in the base of the barn for the poles. Make sure that each hole for the poles is eighteen inches deep.

If the soil contains a lot of moisture, you should dig deeper pole holes. After you have installed each pole into their respective place, pour concrete over it to secure it. Pile up the materials at top of each other and make sure that you secure them per level. This will also ensure the stability of the structure and the whole building will not be affected easily especially during environmental disasters like earthquake.

Do not forget to place the entrance in this set-up as well. If you utilize iron sheets when building the support, do not forget to truss each level to ensure that you will have a compact structure. You should also make sure that the roof is not place very high since it will wear out very quickly.

ADDITIONAL TIPS

Barns should be built on solid land to ensure overall structure stability. Remember not make a basement when creating this kind of project since there is a big chance that the soil will lose its stability. You can also reuse materials like old iron poles to reduce expenses. To increase protection to the building, you can install an insulator. Remember to handle the tools and lumber with care and use gloves and safety goggles while working for additional protection.
